Room 11 PDF Print E-mail

Room 11 is a class of 30 fantastic Year 7 and 8 students. The teacher is Miss Fiona Bolger. Our room is at the top of the stairs and we enjoy being right next door to our friends in Room 10, the other Year 7 & 8 class.

We are busy learning lots of subjects: English, Maths, R.E., P.E., Art and topic studies like Science, Social Sciences and Health. In English this term, we are writing scripts and filming movies. In maths we are looking at measurement and number. Our topic studies have been related to preparing for the school Production. Our class dance is a dodgeball training session to 'Eye of the Tiger'. We will be studying plants later in the term for Science.

One of our favourite times of the week is Monday afternoon when all the Room 10 & 11 students go on the bus to Technology at Mt Cook School. We are split into five different classes there – Cooking, Woodwork, Sewing, Film-making and Electronics. Everyone gets a chance to do all five subjects. We also enjoy going to the Nairnville Recreation Centre every Thursday for P.E. lessons.

Our class loves reading and we enjoy being able to borrow books from Miss Bolger’s collection, as well as the school library. We were all very excited this term when 'Mockingjay', the final Hunger Games book came out.

As Year 7 & 8 students, we enjoy getting the chance to take on leadership responsibilities such as being a House Captain, a Road Patroller, a Librarian, a member of the Catholic Character Team, plus lots more.
